On the usual look out for unseen work today and came across this beauty. From what I can tell the effect was made by chromakeying a subject who was shot at varying rotated angles from the camera, then a displacement mask has been made to shimmer and reveal the underlying image and varying states of rotation. Superb!
Basically it’s using similar techniques of Micaël Reynaud’s “Amalgamation” video work which hit our intrawebz late last year. EDIT. Further research shows the effect is called slit-screening, check it out.
